CardComps Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and XEPATOP, an independent developer in Subotica, Serbia (“I”, “me”), the maker of the CardComps app. By using the app you accept them. Contact:dev@xepatop.com.

1. The service

CardComps recognises Pokémon Trading Card Game cards from photos, keeps your collection and shows market prices. You need an account to scan. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for digital services in your country, to create one.

2. Recognition and prices are information, not advice

Recognition can be wrong, including the card's printing, language, edition or grade. When the app is unsure it asks you, but it can also be wrong without asking. Prices come from public market data and third parties, can be out of date, and are not an offer to buy or sell. Check before you buy, sell or insure a card. CardComps does not tell whether a card is authentic.

3. Free scans and PRO subscription

• A free account includes a limited number of scans to try the scanner. Used free scans are not restored.
• PRO is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) bought through Google Play. The price is shown in the app and in Google Play before you pay. It renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
• Cancel any time in Google Play: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. PRO stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the consumer law of your country.
• I may change PRO features or prices. A price change applies from your next period and Google Play will notify you first.

4. Acceptable use

Don't try to bypass the scan limit or subscription, overload or attack the servers, scrape the catalog or prices, or reverse-engineer the recognition service. I may suspend accounts that do.

5. Your content

Your collection and photos stay yours. You let me process them to run the app, and to use photos of scans you report as wrong to improve recognition, as described in the Privacy policy.

6. Trademarks

CardComps is an independent app. It is not produced, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon and the names of Pokémon characters are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the cards the app works with.

7. Availability and liability

The app is provided “as is”. I work to keep it running and accurate but don't guarantee it is always available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made based on the app's recognition or prices, and my total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

8. Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (how). If I shut the service down, I'll give notice in the app and a way to export your collection.

9. Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia, without taking away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. If the terms change, I'll update the date above, and tell you in the app about significant changes.
